Cheapest ChatGPT Plus by country
Keep two prices apart. The OpenAI help center lists Plus at $20 a month and says there is no annual plan. That is a list price, not the amount in every country’s store. Plus rows in this site’s matrix are historical App Store samples with a source and an observation date. They are ordered for lookup, not as a cheapest-country ranking.
The list-price check date on the ChatGPT page is 2026-11-01. Each matrix row has its own observation date. If they disagree with checkout, checkout wins.
The list price does not answer “which country”
| Plan | List price already recorded here | What it is not |
|---|---|---|
| Go | $8 / month | From the OpenAI Learn pricing page. The help center says some countries can be billed in local currency, so this is not a worldwide checkout price. |
| Plus | $20 / month | Help-center list price. It does not include API usage, and it is not a per-country App Store receipt. |
| Pro tiers | $100 / $200 / $500 per month | A different set of chat tiers. Do not mix them into one “cheapest Plus” table. |
Business and Enterprise seat prices are marked not verified on the product page. This page does not fill them in. Sources sit on ChatGPT list prices and API rates.
How to read a country sample
- Open the price matrix, choose ChatGPT, then Plus. Compare the same plan and the same channel.
- Read the observation date and the source link. A row is a historical record, not today’s checkout and not an API rate.
- The USD column is a converted observation. Local currency, tax, and the payment method change what you pay.
- A missing country is a missing sample. Blank does not mean free, and it does not mean more expensive.
Plus does not pay the API bill
Calling a model from your own program, Codex, or Claude Code uses API credit, not Plus. Short-context API samples are on the ChatGPT page. The unauthenticated Ofox catalog observation dated 2026-10-29 records text rates only where that response had them. This site does not call Ofox cheaper, and it does not add a verified badge.
Disclosure: the Ofox link is an affiliate / referral link. Qualifying signups or spend may earn JXZNE a commission. Rates, credits, and the model list are whatever Ofox shows when you open it. If the extra $3 on a first top-up is still offered, Ofox pays it. This site does not.
Questions
Is Plus $20 in every country?
The help center lists $20 a month. The product page also says list prices exclude local tax, and that checkout, store channel, and local-currency bills can differ. Use the dated matrix for country samples. Do not treat $20 as every store’s receipt.
Is the lowest converted row the cheapest country today?
No. It is one historical observation. Channel, tax, exchange rates, and account region change. This site does not rank countries by that low, and it does not suggest buying an account in another region.
Does Plus count as API credit?
The product page says Plus does not include API usage. API calls need a developer bill, or a usage account such as Ofox where you check that the model is actually listed. Do not add the two bills and call the sum the hidden price of Plus.
