Perplexity API fees and the subscription gap
What we can cite is the API rate card. A consumer Pro or Max monthly price was not in the page we could read, so it stays unverified.
Checked 2026-11-01. Per-model token rates for answer models live on a separate models page. They are not copied here.
Consumer subscription price
perplexity.ai/pro did not return a citable dollar amount. Use the official checkout. This page does not fill in a familiar “$20” figure.
API fees we could quote
| Item | Published price | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Search API | $5.00 | Per 1,000 successful requests |
| Search API Fast Search | $1.00 | Per 1,000 successful requests |
| Agent web_search | $0.0025 | Per invocation |
| Agent web_search fast | $0.001 | Per invocation |
| fetch_url | $0.0005 | Per invocation |
| sandbox | $0.03 | Per session, plus searches inside it |
| pplx-embed-v1-0.6b | $0.004 | Per 1 million tokens |
| pplx-decider-v1.2 | $0.02 | Per 1 million input tokens; output is free |
One successful Search API request can hold up to five queries and still counts as one billing unit. Failed and rate-limited requests are not billed. Agent model token rates are on the models page, not in this table.
Cross-country subscription samples
The table is this site’s price snapshot. Each row has a source and an observation date. These are historical App Store samples, not today’s checkout and not API rates. Rows are sorted by country name so you can look one up. That order is not a cheapest-country ranking.
Filter them in the matrix (中文) →Ofox next to the official API
Lock the same model, then compare the official input, output, and cache rates with the rates in the Ofox catalog. This page does not type in an Ofox price, and it does not mark any call as smoke-tested. An aggregator can make several models easier to manage. It is not a guaranteed discount, and it may not cover every feature on this page.
